US Army.
The US Army is the main branch of the military and is the largest and oldest branch of the US military. It was formed on 14 June 1775.The main purpose of the army is to fight and win our Nation’s wars by providing prompt and sustained land dominance. It takes a lot of harsh training to become apart of the US Army. They are divided into two different categories-individual and collective. Basic training consists of 10 weeks. They don't want people who are incapable of preforming the tasks that they need to be done. The Vietnam war was a low point for the army due to all of the drafting. People probably weren't as motivated to fight for their country being that they were forced into it. The army flag was dedicated june 14 1956 but it was approved two days before.

The US Airforce is the aerial warfare service of the United States armed forces.It takes a lot of hard work and training to be apart of this military force. It was formed as a part of the military on 18 september 1947 and is the most recent branch of the US military to be formed. It is also the largest and most technologically advanced airforce in the world.Its purpose was to basically support any military on the ground, but after world war ll they realized that air power had so much more potential than to just support ground troops.The main mission of the air force is to protect the united states through exploitation of air and space.
